Big 12 men’s basketball power rankings entering conference play
Conference play officially begins for the Utes in next Tuesday’s game against Baylor. This will be the true test for the men’s basketball team going forward. Can they improve on the road? They need to figure it out now, because there’s no going back now.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand. The Big 12 Men’s Basketball power rankings, they are as follows:
- 16. Kansas State Wildcats (6-5)
- 15. Utah Utes (8-3)
- 14. Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-3)
- 13. TCU Horned Frogs (7-4)
- 12. UCF Knights (9-2)
- 11. Colorado Buffaloes (9-2)
- 10. Arizona Wildcats (6-5)
- 9. Texas Tech Red Raiders (9-2)
- 8. Arizona State Sun Devils (9-2)
- 7. BYU Cougars (9-2)
- 6. Cincinnati Bearcats (10-1)
- 5. West Virginia Mountaineers (9-2)
- 4. Houston Cougars (8-3)
- 3. Baylor Bears (7-3)
- 2. Kansas Jayhawks (9-2)
- 1. Iowa State Cyclones (10-1)

Surprising, I thought they would make the top 10 at least. Near dead last sucks. But they may be going from last seasons performance too. But, we’ll see how things go once they get some games though in the conference play.

It can always improve. Win more and we rise more. Simple as that.

Oh they will rise up this list. By the end of the season they could be in the top 5.

It’s a start, can always move up the list.

May be close to dead-last, but it’s certainly not the end for us. This can always be turned around when we start to win these conference games.

Conference play hasn’t even started for us, so it makes sense they rank us up like this. Probably taking into account last season as well.

Conference play begins today, so if we land a win, I can see our ranking increasing some. We could benefit big time with a win today.

They have a lot of work to do, but I think they will improve this season. I think we can expect more road game wins, and hopefully a good run for a championship.

I think with a win today, they could easily move up into the top 10, or even hit 10. Winning is what will get them up the list. As long as they do that, this season will be perfect.
