Could Kyle Whittingham possibly win coach of the year?
After how this season has gone so far, and how we’ve stayed in it without our leading QB and TE, do you think that coach Whittingham could possibly end up winning coach of the year? Or could there be another coach in line to win?
I was going to say Deon Sanders at first, but his run has been stifled a bit due to 3 losses on the season already.
Who else has a real chance of winning it? Could Whittingham be the front runner?

He’s definitely a candidate to win, and if we keep winning, his chance skyrockets.

Would be pretty epic if he ends up winning, but for some reason I doubt he will win it. Unless we are able to make the Pac-12 title game again. Only then would I see him winning.

I’m doubtful he will win it with how stacked the pac-12 is right now. But, I suppose it’s anyones to win.

No, not if we end up losing out on this season.

Does he deserve to win coach of the year though? Maybe if he still ends up getting us to the Pac-12 title game, but as it stands now, I don’t think he is even in the top 5 coaches of the year. At least in 2023.

No, he isn’t going to win coach of the year. I assume it’ll go to someone else. Could even see Deon Sanders winning for breathing some life over there, even though it’s not going the way he expected.

Why would he win it this year? I can see it happening if we make the Pac-12 title game, but I don’t see it happening if we don’t.
But, he could be in the running for still getting us to a decent winning record without Cam and many other players due to injury. It’s still a great accomplishment to so far go 6-2 with a team that’s beaten up right now.

I think it’s because of how badly this team is hurting and how he’s keeping us alive is what could get him a coach of the year nomination. I don’t know if he would win, but you never know. Would be pretty cool.

This right here! Even though this team is hurting with the amount of injuries and problems, we’re still sitting at a 6-2 record. We’re not perfect and could certainly be better.
Even ending at a 8-4 record isn’t bad. It’ll probably put us in a bowl game. Maybe we’ll be lucky and our record will be enough to get in.

If we end up winning out the season I could see him winning it. I mean, we’re 6-2 now, if we can win out, that puts us at 10-2 and likely in the Pac-12 title hunt.

He has a strong case for winning it I’m sure. He’s taken a battered and beaten team this far. If he can keep this team alive, he’d probably easily win it.

I wish him the best in the running. I doubt he will win it, but ya never know. Is it a fan vote thing?

I could see him winning it, even if we don’t end up making it to the Pac-12 title this year. It’s not always about winning that gets you this award, it’s about more than just winning.

He has my vote as well. I think he could win it if we somehow defeat Washington next. But if we even can get a win against Arizona, he could be a potential nomination.
