Do you think the new college football roster limit could impact Utah in 2025
This is big and could be a big hit to our roster going forward. A rule change might actually end the practice of walk-on players. The crazy thing is, walk-on players make up nearly 30% of Division I rosters. I don’t know the full details on how this all works, but it doesn’t sound good. Read more about it at the link below. So what does this mean exactly? Does it mean that we’ll have a harder time landing talent?

It could end walk-on players, as they don’t need a scholarship to play. But under this new rule, players will have to have a scholarship in order to play. At least that’s what I’m seeing.

That is going to be a big change, but this will effect a bunch of teams won’t it? At least in terms of division 1.

I think it will have a big impact, that removes a lot of potential talent from the mix and I don’t like it.

I see it being a problem, but I think this team will find a way to make up for it, or find a solution around it. But we shall see how it all plays out. For all we know this might get overturned or changed at some point.

Nah, I think they’ll figure it out in the long run. I am not worried. If anything, this could bring new opportunities.

I think there could limit the type of talent we get, but I don’t think it’ll cause us major problems or anything.

I’m not sure. Part of me thinks this could hurt them a bit, but I have a feeling most schools will have to follow along, so I think they figure out how to cope with it.

I think losing the walk-on players is going to be huge. That was a big part of this team and losing potential talent from there is going to suck.

I think it already has, at least causing worry for staff because that means a lot of talent is out of the equation right? I don’t like that.

I think it’s going to run the well dry a lot quicker. I’m sure we pull a lot of talent from this, and so losing out on it is going to have a big affect on us.

It’ll affect a lot of schools who rely on it. I think it’ll suck for the first few years, but the Utes will find a way to get used to it.
