Four candidates for Utes new Basketball head coach
So with the Utes firing coach Craig Smith after 4 seasons recently, there is a coaching vacancy that needs to be filled and there’s already some ideas for candidates to take over. Sports Illustrated has a four candidates they see could be possible options. They are;
- Alex Jensen
- Jeff Hornacek
- Richard Pitino
- Andre Miller
I am excited to see where Utah goes, maybe these 4 are candidates they are looking at, or maybe there are another list of candidates. I like Alex Jensen and especially like Andre Miller.

Andre Miller would be a dream hire for me. I would love to see that come to fruition.

Miller would be epic, he’d bring new life to this team.

I want Pitino, I think he’d revive this team to their old winning ways.

I would be happy with either Jensen, Hornacek or Miller. Mill is probably my #1 want for head coach.

Just give us Miller and call it a day. I like the other candidates, but Miller would be my pick too.

I think any of these guys would be an improvement over Smith, but I’m really interested in seeing what Richard Pitino can do for us.

All I gotta say, is that they better pick the right person for the job, because we need this guys to get back to their winning ways.

I agree. It’s going to be a hard choice, but I think Utah will find a worthy replacement. I would go with Miller honestly.

I think this is a good pool of candidates, Hornacek being my favorite.

I really like Jensen’s track record, he’s done a lot so far in his career, and I think he’d be a good pick for their new head coach.

I am in agreement there. He has a good portfolio of success. If not him, I think Andre Miller would be my next pick.

I’m on the Andre Miller bandwagon, would love to see him coach for us.

Miller is my pick, but I have a feeling neither of these guys will get the job, and the Utes will look elsewhere for their future head coach.

Yeah these are just predictions, there’s no guarantee these are the candidates the Utes are eyeing or not. It could be a whole different group of candidates for all we know.

There’s always a chance that these guys aren’t even on the Utes radar or in discussion. But, I am kind of hopeful it’s one of these four guys, because they all seem like worthy options, far more appealing than the alternatives I feel.

It’s hard to pick one, because they are all so great. Andre Miller sounds like the perfect pick in my book, simply for his history in Utah.

Jensen and Miller are the top two, but it seems as if Jensen is getting the job.
