If we lose another game, do the Utes chances diminish?
Posted by Geoff on October 8, 2022 at 1:38 pmI’m sure it depends on what team the loss is to, but I can’t imagine us losing another game would be a good idea. If the Utes lose one more game this season, what does that mean for their chances of, making these new playoffs or making the Rose Bowl again? I know last year we had 2 losses in the season and still ended up playing in the Rose Bowl, so we could still make it.

Well, whenever a team does lose, their chances go down, that’s the inevitable truth of the sport. You want to win as much as possible, obviously, otherwise your chances go down. Two losses can be fine, but it also depends on the records of the opposing teams and all that jazz.
So really, more losses is worse.

Well yeah, with each loss, it hurts us more. But, if we can stick to just the one loss, and keep the wins coming, we will make it back to the championship. 🙂

That’s how it works, you lose more games, your rank dips. But, the Utes aren’t going to let that happen.

I hope we don’t lose anymore games, I’d hate to see our chances fall because of a couple more losses. The Utes are better than they were last year, so I don’t see them losing anymore games. I hope they keep it to just the one loss.

Well we lost our second game of the year. We still have a chance, but our chances continue to go down if we fail to win. We can’t afford to lose anymore.
-
Well yeah, the more games we lose the more our chances diminish. I don’t think that will happen though. I think the Utes will get back onto their winning ways. It’s just a matter of time.

That’s kinda a given. If we lose more, we lose our chances to make the Rose Bowl again, and even join the playoffs that College football has been on about for a while now. Is there going to be a playoff this year?
-
Well yeah, any time we lose a game, it decreases our chances of going anywhere. Currently we’re 4th in the Pac-12, but still, if we lose our chances go down by a lot.

Very likely. I mean, whenever you lose a game, it goes against your chances. The more games you lose, the less likely you’ll get into a bowl game.

We went to 20 when we lost against Bruins. I don’t know what our rank is after defeating USC though. I imagine we went down a few.

Yeah as long as we don’t lose to our pac-12 opponents, we’ll have a better chance. But if we do lose more, our rank will drop.
