Jon Jones is coming back to the UFC for a title fight against Ciryl Gane
I didn’t see this coming, but I guess Jon Jones is coming back to the UFC for the first time since 2020. He will be facing Ciryl Gane for the vacant UFC title after Francis Ngannou declined to fight Jon Jones. Dana White reportedly said he was giving Ngannou the biggest deal for a fighter ever, but I guess it wasn’t enough.

Is it just me, but why is it that Jon Jones gets so many chances to come back to the UFC? I Know he dealt with drug abuse a while back that resulted in him losing his UFC contract for a bit I think, or he was suspended I don’t remember.
Anyway, what happened to him in 2020? Was it due to the pandemic that he last fought? Or is there a reason I’m missing ?

Ngannou must’ve wanted a ton of money if they offered him the highest pay for a fighter ever. But I guess he either wanted more, or better perks. I didn’t look into the full story, so I can’t say, but I can see there being some bad blood there.
As for this fight. Should be fun. Wonder if Jon Jones is still as good as the last time he was in the octagon.

Would be something crazy if Ciryl Gane won against Jon Jones. He would blow up as a fighter if he ends up doing that.

Does Jon Jones deserve to come back and get a title fight right away? I feel like he doesn’t deserve it. I know he’s struggled with drug abuse, so I don’t remember if he was let go because of it.

I think it was due to covid and money, I don’t remember. But, he won his last few fights and was ready for a title fight. I just forget why he was gone since 2020.

Ngannou is an idiot, got a massive deal and wanted more. Now he’s lost his title because of it.
Wonder if he will go to a different MMA organization.

I am actually hoping Ciryl Gane comes in there and knocks him out, just to prove that Jon Jones is over-rated. I never liked him myself.

Jon Jones vacated the light heavyweight title because he wanted to move onto the heavyweight division, and needed the time to focus on that. It wasn’t drugs like others have said. He is fighting Ciryl Gane who is a heavyweight champ, so that’s why. He finally got the title shot he’s been hoping for, so he must’ve gotten up to weight to match up with Gane.
Should be a good fight.
