Pili was taken to ER during season opener for an eye scratch
I didn’t hear this until this morning, but it looks like Alissa Pili ended up leaving the season opener because her eye was scratched during the game. She had to go to the ER, but I imagine it will be a fast recovery. She scored 26 in the first half before she had to leave.
Guard Kennady McQueen and Jenna Johnson were also hurt during the game, with McQueen possibly having a bone bruise. While Johnson is said to have to receive stitches for a busted lip. Both are likely to be back fast.

Hey dude, injuries to the eye is no joke. Playing a game like basketball, where it requires good vision, is going to be a challenge with a roughed up eye. I hope she is fine and there is no damage, because we can’t lose her anytime soon.

Yikes, hope she is okay, hate to lose a talent like that, but I think we’ll survive if she needs to sit out longer.

Saw it, didn’t look like much, but clearly it needed to be checked over. I can’t imagine it sidelining her for another game though.

Stuff like this happens all the time in this sport. Glad she is doing okay. I believe she’ll play next week.

They haven’t said much since it was announced. Probably not as major as they first thought it would be, but I’ll wait and see. According to ESPN though, it shows her status as active, so she might be able to play next game.

Hope she is okay. Closest I’ve had was a scratched cornea once. That bugged me for a bit. If she is going to be out, they would’ve given us an update on her condition by now.
