Predictions for RB Ja’Quinden Jackson on the season, 1000 yard season possible?
Posted by Abe on July 19, 2023 at 4:55 pmThe Utes have mostly relied on a tandem of running backs, but this year I think with Ja’Quinden Jackson, he could possibly rush for over 1000 yards this season. Do you think he can secure that many yards? Or will Micah Bernard be able to squeak in to take some of the work?

A 1000 or more rushing yard season would be epic! Last season it was a fairly even mix, as Bernard, Jackson each had 500+ yards, while Tavion Thomas had a little more with 600 yards rushing. But, I think with Jackson starting now, he will see a big bump in his totals with Bernard coming in a fair but close second. Maybe even rushing for 500+ yards again.

Dude, 1000 yards this season would be awesome. But I don’t know if the Utes will work in that way. I really expect Micah Bernard to get a good deal of touches out there too.

Honestly, I can see him hitting 1500 if given the chance. If he does good, we may not have to utilize Micah Bernard much.

Dude 1500 yards would be awesome! He could be the one to do it this year for the Utes.

If he can pull out a 1000+ yard season, than I will be on the hype train. I already saw talent in this kid, but now that he’s starting, he will run down their throats!

I’ll be happy if he hits 900+ yards. A lot of last year was a mix of various running backs. This year might be different, but I still expect Micah Bernard to play a bit too and get a fair deal of yards himself.

I think he could do it. We haven’t had a standout RB in a bit, so maybe he will show us one this year.

With him now the leader in the spot, he could make that a reality. If anyone can do it, it’s JJ.

Would be nice, but I don’t expect them to not use Bernard out there, he is going to be utilized and will likely reach 500+ yards again. So that will eat into Jackson’s yardage, but I don’t think by too much. I think Jackson is going to have that 1000+ yard season, but maybe 1100 or so.

If he outshines Micah Bernard and the others, he will easily reach 1,000+ yards. But it could go the other way where the Utes utilize backups as well. It is college ball after all, you don’t always have just one RB taking all the plays.
