Utah Named in ESPN’s Top 30 Potential Playoff Teams
Yet another list, this time a list from ESPN ranking off the top 30 potential playoff teams for this season. Out of the 30, Utah ranks 29th with Oregon taking #1 and Texas Tech taking last at #30. Full list is below.
Oregon, Texas, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Alabama, Mizzou, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Florida State, Michigan, Clemson, LSU, Kansas, K-State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Louisville, Miami, SMU, Boise State, Arizona, UTSA, NC State, Auburn, USC, OK-State, Utah, and Texas Tech.

29 out of 30 in the whole country is still cool. To be included in the top 30 is in itself special.

First we need to take the Big 12. If they can take the Big 12, then all left is the playoffs to take on. I hope we can show a good face in the playoffs. It’ll be a lot tougher than what we’ll face in the Big 12.

To be among these 29 other teams is still something special in its own right. I am happy we’re even in the discussion as always.

We may be low on the list, it doesn’t mean we can’t overtake some of these teams and secure a better spot near the end of the season. I assume we’ll be highly ranked in the Big 12, which should help their ranking in the overall system.

Key work here being “Potential”. This means this list is subject to change, just like our ranking and everyone else’s.

Just wait until we win the Big 12 and then show up strong in the CFP as well. That’s what we need to do in order to prove we truly belong.

Being a potential team in the mix of 30 of the best teams is a nice too. I’d just take being on the list.

Just because we landed 29, doesn’t mean it’s a bad spot. I will take 29 out of the 30 best teams. Especially since there are a ton of schools after the 30th spot.

I think its nice, but I don’t think it matters if we’re on this list or not. As long as we take the Big 12 title, and make it into the CFP, that’s more than enough of a start. I think the Utes can go far into the playoffs this year.
