Utes Athletic Director Mark Harlan’s contract extension makes him a millionaire!

What a lucky guy. The Utes athletic director Mark Harlan recently got a contract extension that

He also was named the 2023 Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. His original pay rate to start this new deal is $800,000, but with each passing year, he gets a $50,000 increase. So by July 2027, he will be making $1.1 million. But, it sounds like he could make even more as there are more benefits that increase the total.

I wish I was paid this good. 😀

Well that’s nice! He deserves the pay though. The way each of our Utes teams are improving, shows he’s doing something right. We can’t win them all, but we’re pretty close to being that good I think.

I feel like it’s a bit too much to pay for an athletic director, but maybe I’m wrong. How much does Kyle Whittingham get paid as the head coach?

  I believe he gets paid like $6 million, at least that’s what I heard he was getting in 2022. So yeah, a lot more, and deserving since he’s been here 18+ years.

Utes staff is going to keep getting raises and contract extensions if they keep getting the wins, and I think we’re going to keep doing exactly that.

He’s overseeing all sports correct? Well I’d say he’s pretty much killing it. Our teams are winning championships all over the place, and I think having him around helps that success grow even more.

  That’s how I would feel if I just got a bump in my pay like that. I’ve never so much as made more than $100,000 in a year. One day I hope to reach just $50,000 a year lol.
