I think we all know the time is coming, and our players have to come to terms with the fact that coach Whittingham is not going to be around forever. And I truly think Scalley gives us the next best chance after Whitt leaves us for a life of retirement bliss.
Anyway, it’s good to see players accepting that things are going to change and it seems to be coming sooner rather than later.

I think Whitt is leaving the team in good hands with Scalley. We still have one more year with Whitt. That or one more year max and then he’s out of here.
Personally I am okay with it. But as a fan, It’s sad to go through change like this.

As am I! I think people understand Whitt’s time is near an end, and players are also accepting of that. Plus I believe most players find Scalley as a suitable replacement. So it should be a smooth process for him to move in as coach when the time comes.

He brings a lot of what Whitt has taught, so if anything he’s like a continuation of Whitt going forward. So in a way it’ll be like he never left.

Whitts time will never be forgotten, but I think people are ready to move on to a new chapter in their lives.

I am in favor of him too. I think Whitt knows the Utes are in good hands when he leaves.

I think most people are good with him taking over. We’re already at that point of no return anyway, and I know Whitt’s time to coach is nearing its end. Fans and players have come to terms with it, and are now accepting of it.

I think Scalley is the second coming of Whitt if anything. Dude shares so much knowledge, I bet it’ll feel like he’s not even gone.

This shows me that the Utes have an idea or a gameplan in mind for when Whitt is officially gone, and I think they’re getting it ready to go for when he retires.

Key word “eventually”. Do you think that eventually is after this season? After 2025 or 2026? We all know he will probably retire at the latest when he’s 67. But I think they have everything ready to go when he does retire.
Part of me thinks this next season is it for Whitt, because the talk of Scalley being in line, sounds awfully like next year could be when he gets the job.
