Ute's Women to open NCAA Tournament as No. 2 seed against 15th-seed Gardner-Webb
Posted by TheBeast on March 13, 2023 at 7:29 pmThe NCAA Tournament is set, the Utes will be playing their first rounder against 15th seed Gardner-Webb (29-4) on March 17th.
This could be a tough battle for the Utes, but I have full faith in them winning this opener. I hope they can keep winning and get to the title game, I would be so proud of this team if they made it.

Ooh, I can’t wait. I think the Utes will get the win this time around, to keep alive in this tournament. It’s going to be a battle for sure, but I think the Utes want this more than anything right now. Especially after they failed to get to the Pac-12 title.

Both teams have good records, but I don’t know much on Gardner Webb. I imagine from their record they’re pretty decent. But I think Pili and this team are going to show them who’s boss and get an easy win to advance to the next round.

I’m just going to watch and see what happens. I’m not going to say I think the Utes will win, or Gardner-Webb will, because I honestly don’t know. I think it could be a very even game, with both sides having a scoring fest out there.

Utes got to win, I can’t take a loss, especially in the very first round of the tournament. I think these women can smoke most of the competition.
-
Didn’t know they got the #2 seed, that’s awesome.
The Utes got this, they’ll win against Gardner-Webb.

Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs are part of the Big South, and are undefeated in their conference. Oh and they are on a 21 game win streak as we speak, so that doesn’t make me feel at ease. But, they are part of a weaker conference, so I think our chances are pretty good at besting them.
-
Yeah just because they are undefeated in their conference, doesn’t mean much. They have lost games, and that means they are beatable.
-
True. They are a good team, but in a division that isn’t nearly as good as the Pac-12, at least imo. I think Utes get this win.
-
Utes shouldn’t have any problems with Gardner-Webb. If anything I think the Utes will win by at least 10 points. Should be a good, competitive game though.

It could be one of those trap games though. Gardner-Webb aren’t bad, and will give the Utes a run for their money. I think it could be a closer game too. Like a few points to end it.
I think the Utes still win, but it’ll be a closer battle than we thought.
-
I think most publications are picking the Utes to win it. Gardner-Webb isn’t bad by any means, but I don’t think they’re as good as the Utes, even on their best day.
Utes win by 5.

Gardner-Webb isn’t a team to look down on, they’re a tough team. Look at their record. Their division isn’t that bad either. The Utes have a lot going for them, but lets not say that Gardner-Webb is a bad team. They are dangerous, so this Utes team needs to take notice of that.
-
They are a good team, you are correct. But the Utes are a lot better at running plays and have vastly better talent. But, Gardner Webb will fight as much as they can to get that win, so Utes have to keep their heads on their shoulders.

Utes will win by 10-15 at least. Gardner-Webb may be a half decent team, they’re not Utes good.
-
Utes shouldn’t have any issues when they face them. Should be easy if anything.
