SALT LAKE CITY – In each of the last two seasons, the University of Utah softball battled its way into contention for conference tournament titles and earned berths in the NCAA Tournament. Now, with a new core of players that includes nine first-year Utes, coach Amy Hogue is preparing to guide her team into its first season of competition in the Big 12, which is also the 50th season of Utah Softball.
